Quartzite is a hard, non-foliated metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. 

Quartzite is different to Granite and Marble, and aesthetically brings the natural elegance of Marble, whilst providing the increased stain and scratch resistance to both Marble and Granite. 

Because quartz is completely non-porous, it is less prone to stains and bacterial growth.
